Do you have the X Factor?
It’s an outrage!
The family and I have been watching the X Factor and I’m hooked!
I think it’s an outrage that Wagner went through and Storm Lee went out! Wagner can’t sing, so why did he go through?
It’s very simple, the audience like him! He’s fun, he’s confident and he makes people smile.
There is an important lesson there for business owners. How many of your clients would describe you like that?
Have you ever wondered what your team and clients’ perception of your confidence is and what impact it’s having on your business? Do you make your clients smile and do they look forward to hearing from you?
As a business owner the challenges you face are all too real. Maybe your team is underperforming and you are starting to question your ability as a business leader, perhaps your number one client is not returning your calls, or clients are taking even longer to settle your invoices.
For some business owners these external factors can affect your confidence. So, what’s the best way to get the negative messages and thoughts out of your head and boost your flagging confidence levels? One of the most famous quotes from Henry Ford is ‘whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right’, so you need to find ways to believe that you can succeed.
There are a number of tools and techniques that can be used to boost confidence and which in turn leads to increased sales. There are three golden rules to get you going.
1. The first is to focus on what you want. It’s no good saying “I just want more confidence,” you have to be specific about what you need it for. For instance saying “I want the confidence to lead and manage my team” immediately provides a purpose.
2. The second rule is you must take action, however small. It is only by doing something different, that you will see and experience progress and this in turn, will boost your confidence. Just thinking about it isn’t enough.
3. You need to keep working at it. You wouldn’t expect to be an expert driver with just one lesson; you have to keep practicing in order for it to come naturally. It’s the same with your confidence.
You have to keep working at it to make it your X factor and to help you overcome life’s challenges, as well as making those all-important changes that you really want.
